Easter In Penang

Yup, the title says its all. We went to Penang again(yay!). A little different this time round, as normally we'd be in KL and would attend Good Friday and Easter morning services at our home church but since we were there, we went for service at Penang First Assembly and were so blessed by the message from their guest speaker, Pastor Sunil Abraham =)

We stayed in G Hotel, a swanky modern retro kinda place which is located in Jalan Gurney or more famously known as Gurney Drive. An ideal location (minus the beach) because its not to far from the city center and is also extremely convenient as there is a shopping mall (Gurney Plaza) right beside it.

Happy Chinese New Year

A Happy Chinese New Year and Gong Xi Gong Xi to everyone. I've been rather busy with the kids ever since school re-opened, so my blogging time is limited. My eldest is in Primary 1 and is still getting adjusted to this new phase in life. Besides being in a much larger school with longer schooling hours, there's also a whole new group of teachers and classmates to get acquainted with. So the past week's holiday was a great opportunity for him and the whole family to just let loose, relax and have fun. We made a trip north to Penang Island for 5 days, then went back to KL for a day to get our laundry done, repacked and then headed down south to Port Dickson for 2 days.

The kids played to their hearts content by the beach and pool, while the adults (me and hubby) ventured into more adventurous activities. As for food, what can I say? Excellent! Hehe... it's Penang afterall =)

A Summary

Just a summary of what went on today. Waited for my package to arrive, then we went out for a late afternoon lunch. Walked over to The Curve (Christmas decor there was just incredibly beautiful) for a little bit more of christmas shopping and while we were there, took the little one for a haircut. Believe it or not, the stylist did an excellent job! From now on, will not under estimate those "10 minute haircut" salons anymore =)Decided to then take the boys for some fun on some mini wheels at the 1st floor of the mall. Paid RM3 for 5 mins per kid. Worth every penny as they had so much fun. On the way back to our car, we ordered some take away for dinner and headed home for some packing to be done for our family trip this weekend.

Phew! All in a days work =)) Night, night!

Port Dickson & Malacca

The beginning of a new year is just around the corner, so the trip to Port Dickson & Malacca was what we needed to rejuvenate and refresh ourselves for yet another exciting year ahead. The drive there was smooth with only light traffic and it only took us an hour and a half to get there. Finding the apartment wasn't too difficult either as we had stayed there during one of our previous trips to PD.

After spending 2 nights in PD, we drove south to Malacca. Famous for not only it's rich history and it's Peranankan culture, Malacca is also known for it's popular night market along Jonker Street in chinatown and it's delicious food.

Spring Cleaning

Went out last night for some christmas shopping and I came across a store selling those cute "LITTLE MISS" tee's. Now I don't know about you, but I've always been a huge fan of those. So I decided to take a minute to quickly browse through, hoping that I'd find something I liked. Low and behold, I saw one with "LITTLE MISS TIDY" in purple. How appropriate! It's not that I'm a neat freak or some obsessive compulsive cleaning machine but I do like to keep things fairly neat and orderly in my household. In fact, I found it to be quite therapeutic... be it cleaning or re-arranging the furniture.

However, that wasn't the case today... Far from it! I had only intended to re- organize the top shelf of one of the cupboards to make room for some personal items, but before I knew it, I got carried away. My hands went into automode and was already dragging everything out from under all the lower shelves. It never really occured to me just how much stuff our little family have accumulated at our new home up till now. Prior to the move, we've already cleared a whole lot of items which were in top condition eg: toys, clothes etc. Perhaps this is another good time to do the same.... something like a garage sale... Sounds fun to me =)

Saturday

Had a fantastic weekend with my family. It's one of those weekends where you just feel completely free and relaxed... without having an agenda, and not having to rush for anything at all. Last Saturday, my hubby and I took the kids out to Ikano Power Center, which is located in PJ and is one of the most popular malls in town. Thank God, the traffic wasn't heavy as it only took us less than 15 minutes to get there, parking included. For those, who are familiar with the place, you'll get what I mean =) For those who aren't, well all I can say is... weekends in Ikano is like a madhouse! And I'm not even talking about public holidays...lol

We arrived just before noon yet it was already crowded with shoppers both big and small. The mall was alive and vibrant with various Christmas decorations from Christmas trees to garlands and gorgeous ornaments. Colorful and interesting stalls made a long line, along the pavement outside the mall with some shoppers curiously peeking at what was being displayed and sold. There was also plenty of activities specially for kids. From bouncy castles to sand art, not forgetting a special program by Playhouse Disney and Astro. The anticipation of Christmas was evident!

From a distance I was able to see a group of people getting ready to move into their positions on the stage. They were carolers from St.Xaviers Church. The musicians, were on the left hand side of the stage and were making final adjustments to their instruments. Then a couple of minutes later, they belted out their 1st number 'Joy To The World'.

At approximately 3pm, we then decided to head for home.

A Day Out

Will be taking the boys out to a nearby mall for a "meet & greet" session with the adorable Lilo & Stitch at noon. How fun for them! Also have to remember to bring along my camera to take some shots so that I'm able to post em here =)
