Home Improvement

As a continuation from my previous post, I wanted to share some pics which was taken (of the house) after 3 months of renovation and hard work . What an exciting period that was!

Disastrous

MPPJ had better figure out a better way to deal with that road behind my house. Am beginning to question the effectiveness of those multiple road bumps which are supposed to slow down the cars passing by... but sadly and not surprisingly it isn't working. Sigh, to think that they've learnt from numerous accidents that had taken place =( Can u believe it? That I've already witnessed 2 accidents within the past hour!!!

Perfect Timing

Earlier today, I was reading through the newspaper's classified section on houses for sale and to my disbelief, the value of our home which was purchased just almost 2 years ago had gone up by 40% from the value that it was purchased for at the time. What came immediately into my mind was "Wow! How is it even possible for an average person (who's in the middle income group)  to be able to own some kind of property  today?" Everyone obviously knows that the value of landed property appreciates through time, but this is really quite ridiculous. I mean its wonderful news for home owners but really scary for one who hasn't as yet invested in one.

We were very fortunate as the amount in which our home was purchased for was below the market rate. As you can see in the pics below, the place isn't brand new. In fact the house was about a decade old, and needed some minor renovations and fixing up. But as a whole, the timing couldn't be more perfect (property market kept going upwards from then) and it was indeed a very good buy.

A Concert With Cause

About a month ago, Sri Nobel Primary School had its annual school concert at HGH Convention Hall. But this time, it's not just any ordinary concert. Firstly, it was my little boy's first concert as a primary 1 student (which is very special to me... as a mom) but more significantly, that the school donated its proceeds of almost RM200 000 from their ticket sales to various charitable organizations and families with children whom requires special medical attention.

Titled "Alice In Wonderland (The Nobel Version)" the cast of students and teachers clearly captivated its audience with their outstanding performance. Kudos to Sri Nobel students and teachers for doing an amazing job and being a great testimony!

Hot Wheels

Every now and then B and I would mention about how fun it would be, if we could just leisurely cycle around together. So during our trip to KK while my in laws were looking after the kids, we managed to do just that and had such a good time (although my leg muscles were aching). We enjoyed it so much so that even after we got back to KL, we couldn't shake off the thought and thats when we decided that we should probably get a pair of bicycle. And besides being able to spend that time together, we'll burn some those calories as well! Not a bad thought afterall =)

As I was pretty tied up with the kids, B went on his own in search for our perfect set of wheels. And at the second store he set his foot in, one particular bicycle caught his attention. According to him, he immediately knew that it was "the right one" for me. It was a brand new Garion that looked very elegant with it's slim lightweight frame(which also makes it both durable and hardy) and finished off with a touch of classy white paint. He was right.... I love it!

8th Blessed Years

Today marks the 8th year of my marriage and I have so much to be thankful for. I trully thank God for  blessing me with a wonderful husband. For his love and companionship and for accepting me for who I am and understands me for what I am. My prayer today is that God will continue to help and equipt me to be a good wife and mother and also bless us with many more years together as we continue this journey together as a family.

It's B's Birthday

It's his birthday today and am glad that I'd managed to catch him bright and early to surprise him with his cake. Had initially planned for the surprise to happen the night before but heck, I accidentally fell asleep while waiting for my boys to doze off. Here's how the cake look like :-)

Blessed Birthday Dear!
